UNFORGETTABLE MOMENT AT CMTC 2011

I’ve heard and read people use a variety of words to describe camp experiences, but the word that I always come back to is “magic.” The mere fact that it’s so difficult to explain why or how the camp experience is so profound and meaningful for me (and for so many others friends) is something that can only be explained by some sort of mysticism or confluence of cosmic forces. My story isn’t much different than so many other people’s stories..
Committee Members Training Camp (CMTC) of UESI at Gangtok 1-14 June 2011, which I had attended is one the most significant programmes of my Life. I was amazed from the first day that so many people made me feel so much a part of the team. Everyone that I am with seemed so…nice.  That word is so trivial, but I was truly overwhelmed by how nice everyone was to me.

In the camp we 28 students are trained to be witnesses for the Lord Jesus Christ. WE are taught about doctrines of the evangelical Christian faith, trained how to study the Bible for ourselves and also lead a Bible study group (awesome), personal evangelism, impart discipline of prayer and quiet time, and also skills to handle various pressures and issues in life. And of course there is so much of fun and lots of interaction between members as well.

I was extremely impressed by the then-Man’ S director, a wonderful man named Jerry Lapang.  He seemed to set a tone of kindness, energy, passion, and love for camp and its campers, and that approach to camp spread to all the campers and resources person. He never seemed to get tired, never appeared to have a cross thing to say about anyone, and always put the needs of the campers ahead of his own needs.  He was the ultimate role model, and he’s the primary reason I ultimately i accepted the president post of ICEU Bhubaneswar so that i can continue working in this student ministry. I wanted to be just like Jerry, not professionally but personally... ;)

I did learn so much. Out of which I like Bible study and personal evangelism session the most. All teaching is awesome yet stills some few teaching that I just could not understand. I like the Finances policy of UESI a lot, the environment there and the people I met teach me a great lesson. Those two weeks in the training camp is the most awesome moment in my life so far (wanna go back hehe..)! I am honored to come across a thing like EU. The things I have learnt and the vision I have received from the Lord through UESI, I shall cherish it. My life has forever been changed because of the extension of kindness and friendship from people with whom I only spent any quality time among UESI ministry.  I’m honored that I can pass on the passion of witting this about CMTC’11.

The camp site Gangtok is a beautiful place with mountains, streams, a building covering a hills and a ropeway which we have a thrilling experience as a group. We visited local church where we sang a song and give an introduction of UESI ministry in India. We also come across followers who is persecuted and thrown out of their homes. And yes we tour around many Gangtok tourist site on our Picnic day.On the last day of the camp we got a view of Khangchendzonga – the third highest peak in the world and a extra ordinary fun night with a heavy last super. Altogether,an unforgettable moment! Gangtok CMTC 2011.
